My Story
I began making cards 4 years ago after I attended a Stampin Up card class in July. My coach, Minnie Cieslak, quickly became one of my good friends and mentor. We made Christmas Holiday cards in class and I’ve never been so inspired, happy and satisfied with a hobby since I went to this class.
My Mother-in-Law’s birthday was coming up and I made her a card for the gift we gave. We had a BBQ at our house and when I gave her the gift along with a hand-made card, she was thrilled with the card over the gift! My husband’s cousin, Tammy, was there and saw the card too. She owns a hair salon and said I should sell my cards at her shop. I was surprised that they thought it was such a nice card that I could “sell” them!! The next week I had enough all occasional cards made to send to Tammy's shop to sell. Well, as you know hair salons are closed on Monday’s so my husband, Don, asked if he could take them to school (he’s a teacher) and show some of his colleagues. I said sure since Tammy’s salon didn’t open until Tuesday. Don called me before noon and said he sold all my cards and had orders for more! OMG!! I was SHOCKED!! Now I had to make a lot more cards!
Don's been a great fan of my work, but now he’s my best salesman and lets me know it! I'm very fortunate that he supports my hobby and he loves to sell my cards. He gets a kick out of bringing home money for me and tells me about the nice compliments from his colleagues. Now I get introduced at his work functions as "the one who makes all the pretty cards we buy!"
